Does anyone else worry that the north side of Princes Drive is slipping down the hill? I notice the council are about to fill in the new crack between the road and the pavement on our side??
Not happy about lack of parking restrictions on the triangular island at the junction of Queens Drive and Princes Drive.
Vehicles parked in this area of Queens Drive cause cars to cut the corner when entering Princes Drive, and there have been accidents and many near misses on this corner.
Parking on this corner of Princes Drive must also be restricted on both sides, to avoid accidents, cars enter Princes Drive at very fast speeds and again are in the centre of the road if vehicles are parked here. A danger to other road users and pedestrians, who tend to cross the road at this point.

Thanks for the comment. Just to re-iterate, parking will be restricted with double-yellow lines: * all the way around the triangular junction (not that anyone would actually park there), * also all the way around number 3 queens drive (except a bit in front of their driveway on Queens Drive) * all the way around number 5 queens drive and round in front of number 2 Princes Drive.
The only bit in question is on the far side of the triangle on Queens Drive. Currently the plan shows double yellow in front of 10 & 12 Queens drive. On discussion in the meeting it was generally thought that we needed to have the double yellow restriction more from 12 to 14, so there is somewhere to wait if coming up the hill and turning into Princes Drive.
Does this cover your concern? Are you concerned about cars parked in front of 1 or 2 Princes Drive, which pushes cars coming up the hill onto Princes over to the wrong side of the road? Do you think the double-yellow in front of 3 Queens Drive should extend up to in front of number 2 Princes Drive?
ooups - that last bit should read... "Do you think the double-yellow in front of 3 Queens Drive should extend up to in front of **number 1** Princes Drive?"
Good to hear that restrictions are planned on Queens as you indicate, parking in that part of the road causes many problems when turning into Princes Drive.
I think parking should be restricted on the corner of Princes up to the boundary of No 1 and No 3.
When I reverse off my drive at No 2, if cars are parked in this area opposite, cars speed round the corner, in the middle of the road, and an accident can occur, indeed a few years ago, a lorry hit my car (causing servere damage), on this corner as he came into Princes Drive at high speed, in the middle of the road.
The distance to the corner is so short any vehicle coming round the corner is not seen until you have completed half your manoeuvre, and if it is in the middle of the road, they are on top you before you are aware they are there.
An additional issue which Lucy Care has indicated she would deal with but has never actioned, is "pavement parking". It is now ridiculous the number of cars parked half on the pavement, all along Princes and Queens Drive.
This itself indicates that the roads are too narrow to accomadate any amount of long term parking on these roads.

Hi - I'm Rory. One of your entirely unelected representatives, I volunteered to represent Princes Drive - however I am happy to convey and canvass opinion and act as "channel" for all! Please feel free to add your comments to any news item or on a per street basis in the "Comments per Street" section - any missing roads please just ask me to add (email littleoverparking@gmail.com)
Obviously, only just thrown this together very quickly, so please feel free to suggest new sections and content...
